James Gordon
Licensed Social Worker
Starting therapy is a courageous step towards whole-hearted living with a meaningful life for you. This has been true for my life, and I am committed as a therapist to help you reach your personal goals and outcomes. I specialize in therapy with children, adolescents and adults navigating stress, anxiety, depression, and the effects of trauma. Relationships can become complex while interacting with yourself, friends, partners, and co-workers. I look forward to working with you toward your growth, healing and hopes for your life.
My experience has been in both inpatient and outpatient settings working with children, adolescents, adults, and families. I have helped clients who are faced with crisis intervention, self-harm, anxiety, depression, and behavioral difficulties. I specialize in Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT) and Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT) which I have utilized in both individual and group settings. My goal is to work collaboratively with clients and be able to help identify tools and strategies that would be tailored to each individual.
I enjoy helping people from all walks of life. I want to provide a safe space to allow you to come and feel comfortable. I am here to listen to you, and I look forward to partnering with you to achieve whole-hearted living. If you are ready to begin, I invite you to reach out for a free consultation. We can talk through your needs and goals to ensure you find the right support.
A little about myself:
When I need to refocus and practice relaxation, I enjoy spending time with my husband, family, and friends. My hobbies consist of gardening, taking road trips, listening to music, and reading/watching documentaries, preferably about anything related to social justice.
